RECIPIENTS OF THE CYRIL O. HOULE AWARD

In 1982 the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education established the Cyril O. Houle 

Award for Literature in Adult Education to recognize outstanding books that contribute significantly to

the concept of unity of the field of adult education.  Any copyrighted publication, national or 

international, available in English is eligible for the competition.  Since 1983 the award has been given 

annually at the AAACE National Conference.
