- Secured a grant that paid faculty to give non-credit and tuition-free courses to 650 adult students working in defense industries
- Established a Defense Industries Training School to give intensive three-month courses to train mechanical personnel at the sub-professional level
- Increased Stevens’ reputation as an engineering college which more than doubled undergraduate enrollment from 600 to 1400
- Increased veteran enrollment
- Facilitated the work of A. M. Mayer with the New York Metropolitan Opera to conduct and apply research in psycho-acoustics supported by the Rockefeller Foundation
