Major Contributions to Adult Education
Hall is generally recognized as the coiner of the phrase, “participatory research” and the organizer of multiple international organizations, including the Tanzanian Adult Education Association, African Association for Adult Education, and the International Task Force on Literacy. He is a former Secretary-General of the International Council for Adult Education from 1979-1991. He has worked as a teacher, professor, activist and administrator and demonstrated excellence in all areas. He is the author of the Mumbai Statement of Lifelong Learning, Higher Education and Active Citizenship.
